Colin's Diary
The Asturias made her maiden voyage from Southampton to Argentina in February 1926.  On 28th April 1926 she again left Southampton, bound for Buenos Aires.  Amongst the passengers were Charles W P Godward and Edith Godward, whose grand-daughter Mary has kindly forwarded photographs and passengers lists for the journey.

Samuel Juris and Lidia Schuster
 
Samuel Juris and his wife Lidia (nee Schuster) travelled on the Asturias in 1926, arriving in Buenos Aires on 1st July.
 
Their daughter Hessaria (Caesarea) travelled with them. Samuel was a journalist and author.  After living in Buenos Aires they settled in Palestine, later Israel.

Officially launched in July 1925, the MV Asturias made her 'maiden voyage' on 2nd March 1924.

Ita Halbfinger travelled on the Asturias from Southhampton, arriving in Rio de Janeiro on 16th May 1928, when she was 32 years old.
 
She is standing behind the captain in this photograph, kindly sent by her granddaughter, Iona Zalcberg.
